Aircrafts
The new Bombardier Q-400 aircraft purchased by the Tanzanian government has landed at Mwanza Stadium and was welcomed by various citizens and officials led by President John Magufuli.
The arrival of the aircraft puts the number of new aircraft purchased by the Government in an effort to revive the Tanzania Airlines (ATCL) to 8.
Since coming into power the five-phase government, 2015 is implementing the ATCL Recovery Project where it plans to purchase 11 new aircraft of different types and sizes.
The currently procured flights are:
- Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner - 2
- Airbus 220-300 aircraft - 2
- Bombardier Dash 8-400 / 300 - 4
The remaining three flights are expected to arrive in the country at different times by 2020.
